Miss Alexis is proof positive that patience pays off and that dreams come true. 
Her session was a celebration of sorts – maternal grandma and paternal grandparents came to join in on the fun and the results are stunning. I just loved the portrait of Alexis in her Grandpa’s arms – he’s a pretty big guy and she’s a tiny little thing.
Can’t claim double trouble on this duo yet – they were such sweet little guys for their portrait session. Maybe they are just storing up energy for their toddler years? 
Such a great way to spend a Sunday morning! I met up with the D family at DC Ranch Market Street. Mom contacted me about doing family portraits as well as some portraits of their preschool – Little Sunshine PreSchool & Playhouse. As you can see, their family is beautiful and their preschool facility is stunning. If you are looking for childcare and learning options for your young child and live in the DC Ranch/North Scottsdale area, definitely check them out!
Wow – I am really behind on blogging sessions – I was updating some stuff and I realized I never shared this gem of a session! Two adorable sisters that I met in June – they were such pros during the session it almost seemed TOO easy! A few of my faves:
Princess… nothing else can describe little Mia. Absolute princess. She behaved like one, looks like one and her mom and dad spoil her like one (as they should!) I feel like I have photographed royalty!
I love watching families grow! I met R & D, a beautiful couple, when they were expecting their daughter in the fall of 2007 and have had the pleasure of photographing them several times in the past two years. Most recently was for the anticipation and arrival of their newest child, a beautiful baby boy, Colton. Here are a few from our session:
It was a tough decision to make – shoot at beautiful Anthem Park north of town or explore Scottsdale Civic Plaza. I knew I had two gorgeous girls to work with and either location would be fantastic, but the lure of ice cream and arcade games won out as soon as their mom mentioned that they LOVE the Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale. There is not much of a better treat for after a wonderful portrait session, so we were Civic Plaza bound…
… us and HUNDREDS of white tents. I neglected to check the Civic Plaza calendar to realize that there was a HUGE artfest being held on the Plaza grounds.
Thankfully, after we finally found each other (thank goodness for cell phones!) we had a fabulous session! Still plenty of prime locations for shooting and looking at the final images you’d never guess there were a see of white tents all over the place. Huge thanks to E & L’s parents for having to gorgeous girls who more than deserved their post-session visit to the Sugar Bowl!
It’s been nearly three years since I saw D&E last – and my how they’ve changed! They were in town from Northern California visiting Grandma with their Mom & Dad in North Scottsdale and we met up last Monday for a great session at DC Ranch Market Street. It was my dream session – fun, crazy kids and a slight overcast – what more could a girl with camera ask for?

This trio of boys came to visit last weekend – I love this image of them together – I am sure in 6 months to a year it will change into a big ball of crazy boys wrestling with each other.
Bowls, buckets and basets are a two-fold joy for me – they hold itty bitty newborns and really emphasize how small they are and they serve as containment devices for crawlers.
This rustic wooden bowl is my latest acquisition – I got all giddy when I saw it and I think the other shoppers at the store though I was crazy when I exclaimed to my husband “I can put a NEWBORN in here!”
Baby P (just two weeks old!) got to be the lucky newborn to break in the new bowl. As you can see, she thought it was a BLAST!

One from the end of the session – Miss P got a little fussy at the end, but as you can see, the time it took persuade her that things were okay was WELL worth the effort. One of my favorite Mother/Daughter images.
