This little man had SUCH drama surrounding his birth! His heartbeat became undetectable during labor so Mom was whisked away for an emergency c-section. Her OB had a nasty case of food poisoning and wasn’t able to perform the c-section so they had to call in the doctor who lived the closest to the hospital and he was the fastest c-section surgeon in the west - from first cut to full delivery was under 1 minute (from loss of heartbeat to delivery was under 9 minutes!) Thank goodness for modern medicine and swift acting nurses and doctors!

This little guy came to see me today and he was SOOO excited to be here that he nearly refused to doze off - even with a full belly he thought there was just too much excitement to miss.

See, I am the coolest photographer in Phoenix. Gavin thinks so - giving me the “thumbs up” endorsement!

Finally, with the help of a paci and some close snuggling with Mom, he gave in to the inevitable….

Bowls, buckets and basets are a two-fold joy for me - they hold itty bitty newborns and really emphasize how small they are and they serve as containment devices for crawlers.

This rustic wooden bowl is my latest acquisition - I got all giddy when I saw it and I think the other shoppers at the store though I was crazy when I exclaimed to my husband “I can put a NEWBORN in here!”

Baby P (just two weeks old!) got to be the lucky newborn to break in the new bowl. As you can see, she thought it was a BLAST!

Here’s another one - I mean, who doesn’t love a smiling baby!

One from the end of the session - Miss P got a little fussy at the end, but as you can see, the time it took persuade her that things were okay was WELL worth the effort. One of my favorite Mother/Daughter images.

…. to share. While downloading these images to my PC tonight, I just HAD to edit a few to share on here. Baby M was a delight to photograph - she snoozed quite a bit and at the slightest bit of fussiness, she was easily soothed by Dad. She also qualifies as the smiliest newborn I’ve ever photographed!

How can you *not* fall in love with her?

Yes, you are viewing the correct picture - those would be two large dogs next to that tiny baby… I have to say that I was a bit apprehensive about working with two dogs and a newborn, but Cuervo and CJ did a fabulous job with their new baby brother.

I *have* to share a few of this gal - I am sure you can figure out why.

Miss K’s little sister arrived at the very end of January and I had the pleasure of photographing her last weekend!

I photographed this adorable guy last week at his home with his mom, dad and two older brothers… so much fun for me to get out of the studio for a newborn session.

This little gal was my last session of 2007. Originally due on the 26th, Miss O decided that she didn’t want to miss the gift giving and made her grand appearance about a week before Christmas. And her mom tells me she was rather speedy about her arrival - no messing around for Miss O - from first contractions to delivery was right around 3 hours!

This one makes me just want to crawl into the blanket with her and snuggle.

Notice the pucker of the lips. Love it!

She wasn’t afraid to let us know when she’d had enough (don’t worry Mom - I have a sweet innocent image like this for you in your gallery!)

But a smile on a nine-day old is still precious!
