He took a little coaxing to drift off into sleepy-land, but it was SOOOO worth it!

Mr. B has to be the HOTTEST baby yet - Instead of having to turn up the heat to keep him warm, the kiddo thought that it was TOO HOT in my studio! What craziness is this? Granted, his mamma is an Alaska native, so he might feel that 80 degrees in a room is a touch warm, especially when you are nestled into some warm blankets or snuggling with mom & dad for some beautiful portraits….
This one cracks me up - It’s like he’s thinking “Seriously, do I have to put up with this?”

Snoozer

Wonder where these two feet will take him in life??

This trio of boys came to visit last weekend - I love this image of them together - I am sure in 6 months to a year it will change into a big ball of crazy boys wrestling with each other.

Just a quick share since I am out of town and dealing with a less than ideal internet connection. :(
Meet Mr. Ethan - he was my final session before dashing out of town last week - he’s absolutely adorable and while we had to work a little to convince him he didn’t need his paci for all his pictures, he was a pleasure to photograph!

His toes are just TOO cute!

Meet Miss Kylie! I just *love* her name!
She’s such a sweet little gal! Did splendidly during her session - but did manage to poo on Daddy a few times. It’s all good though - that is what Dad’s are for!
Of course I have to share a smiling picture - it may be just gas, but it’s so darn cute!

I will admit - Jax wasn’t overly excited about his session. He was a real trooper but ultimately had other ideas on how he’d prefer to be spending his morning. But, I am happy to report that we prevailed in the goal of obtaining precious newborn images.
Here are a few:

I love this capture - he’s getting a little squirmy. I find it adorable how they squish their faces.

The start of a BIG yawn!

This one needs to be a large wall portrait displayed in a location where you can view it daily.
As the mom of a boy, I can promise you it’s the type of image that you gaze at and “remember when” while you are cleaning chocolate pudding up off the carpet or black sharpie marker off of the dinning room table!
(Been there, done that for both scenarios!)

This little man had SUCH drama surrounding his birth! His heartbeat became undetectable during labor so Mom was whisked away for an emergency c-section. Her OB had a nasty case of food poisoning and wasn’t able to perform the c-section so they had to call in the doctor who lived the closest to the hospital and he was the fastest c-section surgeon in the west - from first cut to full delivery was under 1 minute (from loss of heartbeat to delivery was under 9 minutes!) Thank goodness for modern medicine and swift acting nurses and doctors!

This little guy came to see me today and he was SOOO excited to be here that he nearly refused to doze off - even with a full belly he thought there was just too much excitement to miss.
See, I am the coolest photographer in Phoenix. Gavin thinks so - giving me the “thumbs up” endorsement!

Practicing for GQ….

Finally, with the help of a paci and some close snuggling with Mom, he gave in to the inevitable….

Bowls, buckets and basets are a two-fold joy for me - they hold itty bitty newborns and really emphasize how small they are and they serve as containment devices for crawlers.
This rustic wooden bowl is my latest acquisition - I got all giddy when I saw it and I think the other shoppers at the store though I was crazy when I exclaimed to my husband “I can put a NEWBORN in here!”
Baby P (just two weeks old!) got to be the lucky newborn to break in the new bowl. As you can see, she thought it was a BLAST!

Here’s another one - I mean, who doesn’t love a smiling baby!

One from the end of the session - Miss P got a little fussy at the end, but as you can see, the time it took persuade her that things were okay was WELL worth the effort. One of my favorite Mother/Daughter images.
