I am hoping to start a new weekly blog feature showcasing some trendy, but still classic, clothing styles that I think would work well for portraits. What to wear for a session is one of the hardest things to decide and since I love to browse all the shops for kids clothing and am always looking at the outfits with a photographer’s eye, well, I figured I could share what I find with my blog readers!

These outfits I found online at Gymboree and Janie & Jack -two of my favorite places to shop. I love their warm colors and have my eye on the Gymboree Desert Flower outfit with the brown hat from J&J for a summer sunset session with my Sarah.

I’ve also determined the little cardigan shrugs are a girl’s best friend because while I LOVE the patterned dresses, I also like to have the option to tone down the pattern as it gets closer to the face so that the subject’s expression remain the focus of the image.

And don’t worry – I didn’t forget the boys. Stay tuned!

Miss J has will be celebrating her First Communion and Confirmation tomorrow so I wanted to give her a huge  “Congratulations” and well wishes – such a big milestone within the Catholic Church!  I think she looks gorgeous in her dress and she’s got a very special Rosary that was bless by the Pope many many years ago. Everytime I look at these images of little Miss Morgan I keep remembering her wonderful newborn session and all of her little squeaks. She was probably the noisiest baby I’ve ever photographed, but not fussy – just, well, squeaky! Reminds me of my girl Sarah who also had her fair share of squeaks the first couple of weeks after her birth.  A huge thanks to Morgan’s Mom & Dad for sharing her with me for a few hours last week – I had a delightful time!

It’s been nearly three years since I saw D&E last – and my how they’ve changed! They were in town from Northern California visiting Grandma with their Mom & Dad in North Scottsdale and we met up last Monday for a great session at DC Ranch Market Street. It was my dream session – fun, crazy kids and a slight overcast – what more could a girl with camera ask for?

I should have announced this a week ago, but it’s been a whirlwind of activity trying to get prepared for the Expo, so I am a little behind..

babyJACKS Photography will be participating in the American Baby & Family Expo at Westworld in Scottsdale this weekend, April 18 & 19, 2009.  I have a lot of gorgeous (if I do say so myself!) work on display and will be at the booth from 9-4 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday and would love to meet and chat with visitors.

There are lots of fantastic events happening at the Expo and I got a sneak peek at the vendors and they look awesome!

The wait is over! Miss Kennedy made her appearance last month and I was lucky enough to photograph her within a couple of weeks of her arrival. Big sis was SOOO good with her – such the little mama!

Meet Sloane – the newest addition to one of my favorite families and the little sister to Holden, who was first introduced on the blog WAY back in April 2007 in THIS post.  I just have to say that TIME FLIES! Sloane was a peach of a newborn – so snuggly and new – I almost didn’t want to give her back!
