Play ball!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I am really excited - I signed my 4 year old up for t-ball. It’s our first organized sport and I will admit, I am a bit nervous about having to make practice times and games. Kev is going to love it though! :)

With this announcement, though, I have changed my schedule for April and May to have Sunday availability, rather than Saturday, to ensure that I am able to make all his games and cheer him on.  Please see the Availability Calendar for weekend dates that are available. :)

Thanks! :)

Addicted

I have to admit it - I am addicted to the Nitendo Wii game: Carnival Games. I borrowed it from a friend while she was out of town and have played it every night since. It’s perfect for me - it’s full of all those games you always wanted to play at the amusement parks, fairs and carnivals but always felt guilty wasting the money to do so. Well, now I can play all of them for FREE! How perfect is that? :)

I like to play prize mode where I can earn tickets and unlock the secret games - I think I have them all unlocked. I am horrible at the golf games, getting better at “hoops” and can shoot ducks perfectly all day long.

Anyway - I just had to share what has been amusing me from 9-10pm at night. :)

What is your favorite Wii game? :) (use the comment box below to tell me!)

The “K” Krew

It’s been two years since I’ve photographed the K family, but I have to say that the kids are just as fun as ever - it was truly a delightful session and I had a ton of fun. :)

Monsters & Angels

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

We spent last weekend in Iowa visiting my parents. Being thin-blooded Arizonans, my husband, Sarah and I tried to spend as much time indoors as we could - we even make cookies to pass the time. Needless to say Sarah inherited my love of any and all things sweet! This will be printed as a 10×30 collage for her room! :)

We were a little disappointed to miss a majority of the snow, but we got lucky on Super Bowl Sunday as a winter storm blew in and dumped 2-3 inches on the ground - just enough for Kevin to drop to his knees, roll over and create a snow angel (which he said beats making a pebble rock angel in our front yard - yes, he’s tried it!)

Just a few things….

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Here are a few things I wanted to mention:

1. Calendar of Availability - I am in love with Google Calendar and have integrated it with into the blog (see link above) so that clients can get an idea of my availability for shoots. In general, I am booked 2-3 weeks in advanced, if not further for weekend dates… which brings me to the next change…

2. Starting March 1st, I will be offering weekday session times 3 days a week - during the day on T/Th and later afternoon/evening times on Wednesdays. I will still be offering limited Saturday sessions, but there will be an additional session fee required to reserve these prime spots.

3. Outdoor Sessions - This isn’t so much of a change as it is a reminder that March and April are the PRIME MONTHS to have outdoor portrait sessions! Once May and the 100+ degree temperatures hit, I turn into a wimp and prefer to retreat indoors to my studio for sessions. There are a lot of great places to do family or even kids sessions, such as Anthem Park, Mesa Arts Center or even DC Ranch Market Street, so contact me ASAP to schedule your session!

4. Grandparent Sessions - I know many of my friends and clients who have parents who winter in Phoenix (or even live here all year round) so March & early April is a great time to schedule a Grandparent session with your children and your parents. Trust me, these will be CHERISHED images by your parents and decades from now your kids will love looking back on them. :)

Center of the Universe

Friday, February 8th, 2008

This little gal is the lucky one - definitely the center of the universe for her Grandma, Mom, Dad and Aunt & Uncle. Grandma commissioned a session to capture the family all together before 1/2 of them (Baby L, Mom, Dad & Uncle) moved to Ohio. I have a feeling Grandma & Aunt are going to be earning a lot of frequent flier miles! :)

Flashback

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

The first thing most people say when they see my little girl Sarah is that “She looks JUST LIKE YOU!” So, when I was visiting my parents last weekend, I scanned in a bunch of old images (working on geneaology stuff - more on that later) and I wanted to share a key one…

Circa 1980 - Me at 18 months.  My little Sarah is not *quite* my clone, but close. :)
