Holiday Sessions

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

It’s still hotter than heck out right now, so I’d like to start thinking some cool thoughts and mention holiday sessions for this fall. We are currently scheduling holiday portrait sessions for September, October and early November. I strongly suggest contacting the studio soon to book your session, as I anticipate filling up the schedule early!

Typical turn around time for a portrait session, from time of session to time of delivery of your actual portraits, is 4 weeks. During the fall rush, the turn around time can extend out to 6 weeks due to volume delays at the various vendors we use (such as printing labs and framing suppliers). To ensure that you have your holiday portraits or greeting cards in hand to send out on time, please keep this 4-6 week time frame in mind when scheduling your portrait session.

2007 Holiday Schedule

Sunday, October 14 - Mini Session Date (click HERE for details)

Saturday, November 10 - Last day for holiday sessions

Saturday, November 17 - Last day for collage, canvas and portrait handbag orders.

Saturday, December 7 - Final day for RUSH orders (25% surcharge placed on rush orders) (Standard portraits and greeting cards only. Specialty products not available for rush priority.)

We will be accepting *limited* appointments for our maternity & newborn clients from November 11-December 15th. The studio will be closed from December 16th through January 11th.

Kev

Monday, August 27th, 2007

My little man turned four last weekend - we had a fun party with all of his friends and Chick-fil-A catering- YUM!

For his big present this year, Scott and I decided to give him a bicycle. He was pretty weary of it at first - he’s used to being closer to the ground with his tricycle, but as soon as he realized that the training wheels would keep him from toppling over too easy, started to enjoy it.

And then today I received a new backdrop for this fall - asked Kev to help me test it out. :) He was obliging for about 2 minutes.

Portrait Gift Registry

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

New this fall!

I am excited to announce the availability of our Portrait Gift Registry! Portraits make the perfect gift for baby showers! We’ve long offered gift certificates, but with the gift registry, things are even easier! To set up a gift registry, simply contact the studio to schedule a maternity and/or newborn session, pre-pay your session fee, and we will send you up to 50 “registry cards” that you can include in your announcements so that your friends and family know that you would like to receive “A Gift of Memories” from Meggan Jacks Photography. The cards include instructions to the gift-giver on how to purchase portrait credits for you to use on your session.

Secret Garden

Monday, August 20th, 2007

I absolutely love it when I get the opportunity to photograph clients in DC Ranch - they sure know how to put together some spectacular green oasis out there in north Scottsdale! Too bad they hide them behind guard gates. :) Ahh.. but my clients had connections to get access to this secret garden. Shhhhhhh….

I hadn’t seen this dynamic M&M duo since May of 2005 and I was caught off guard by how much older the girls are! I guess I expected them to stay the sweet little gals I met two years ago - oh, they still are sweet, but there is getting to be a little sass in there too. I have to say, I had a blast!

He’s back!

Friday, August 17th, 2007

He’s practically famous with his gorgeous blue eyes and rightfully so. Hard to believe it’s been four months since the image at the header of this blog was captured, but it has! Last weekend Mr. H came in with his mom & dad for his four month babyJACKS session. He wasn’t the happiest of campers during the session - some major teething going on! Patience pays off though, and I’ve got a bundle of adorable images for mom & dad to see, but I do want to share a few with everyone. :)

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

The babyJACKS Sessions are designed to capture all of the milestones of your baby’s first year. With four sessions scheduled at regular intervals throughout the first year to 18 months, the studio will capture timeless portraits of your child as they grow from a cuddly newborn into a rambunctious toddler.

The babyJACKS Sessions focus on your growing baby as well as their growing relationship with you. We encourage parent participation in the sessions to create beautiful images that will be cherished for a lifetime.

The babyJACKS Session fee is $400 which covers the session fee for the four sessions. All prints may be purchased a la carte or from one of three special portrait collections designed especially for babyJACKS clients.

Big Bro, Lil’ Sis

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

One of my favorite aspects of photographing babies and families with young children is watching the little ones grow up through the first year. I first met this little guy when he was an only child, anticipating the birth of his little sister. Now 7 months later he’s a pro at being the big brother! He also turned three this summer and he told me all about his birthday party - the balloons, the gifts, and the cake!

And of course we can’t forget little sis! She’s 7 months, sitting up, crawling, pulling herself up on things - pretty much doing all she can to keep up with her older sibling. She a tongue-sticker-outer too (just like my Sarah!)

This next one made me giggle. :)

Creative Memories Scrapbooking

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Scrapbooking is one of my hobbies - a way to celebrate everyday photography as well as preserve the stories that make up my life with my family and friends. I am a Creative Memories Consultant, though more of the “hobbiest” type consultant. I do want to share that Creative Memories just released their new products for their Showcase 2007. They have some really fun stuff out now - a few of my favorite things:

The Everyday Display - actually introduced in June, this is a huge hit for Creative memories! This 18×18 frame comes in both black and white and the fabric covered magnetic board with magnetic “pin cushions” let you change it up as much as you like! I have one in studio, so be sure to look at it at your next session:

Next on my fave list for the new products is the Vintage Power Palatte System - If you weren’t aware of what CM Power Palette are, they are coordinated kits of papers, stickers and photo mats that help you to create a coordinated look for your albums.

If you are interested in receiving a new catalog, let me know - meggan@megganjacks.com. Or, you can view all the products at my CM Online ordering website HERE and you can even order online and have the products shipped directly to you!

Sweet Red Head

Monday, August 6th, 2007

I do photograph more than just bellies and new babies! This weekend Miss T stopped by for her 1 year portraits. I loved the color of her dress and it matched her red hair and creamy complexion perfectly!

Oh Boy!

Monday, August 6th, 2007

This weekend was a busy one for the studio - first up was this little guy, born at the end of July. So adorable! The first image I know will be a favorite for his mom! The second is my favorite! :)
