Something from nothing…

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

I will never cease to be amazed at how babies - these cute, precocious, squiggly creatures - all start out as these tiny single cells. We are literally created from next to NOTHING. Did you know that all the reproductive eggs a female will generate are formed during her time in her mother’s womb. It seemed crazy to me when I realized that while I was pregnant with Sarah, I was also carrying with me 1/2 of each of my future grandchildren. The egg that created me was created while my mom was in my grandmother’s womb. I tell you, genetics and reproduction are crazy stuff, so you will have to pardon me if, during your maternity session, that I have a bit of a “mystified” look on my face. It’s hard for me not to look at a pregnant belly and not think of all the cells splitting and dividing to create these tiny miracles. (Oh, and stay tuned to meet the miracle who popped out of this beautiful belly - I met him today and I can tell you that he’s darn cute!)

Rock-a-bye Baby…

June 30, 2007: Have you ever wanted to sing a lullaby to a picture? I find myself wanting to sing to little Ariana as I process her images. Such a soft, beautiful little girl. Gorgeous brown eyes and (as you can see) a head full of dark locks of hair. I am having a hard time narrowing down images to show Mom & Dad. :)

Kidlet Update

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

We had a FUN time in Iowa visiting family! Sarah enjoyed showing off her new walking skills and Grandma was so impressed she bought Sarah her first pair of shoes! Kevin spent each day begging Grandpa for tractor rides and catching lightning bugs just after dark.

Late arrival!

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

June 25, 2007: After rescheduling twice because *someone* was too comfy in mom’s tummy to make an on-time arrival, sweet, but not-so-little(!), baby Ava made her appearance! Hard to believe she was only a week old, because at over 10lbs already, she didn’t look too much like the tiny scrunchy newborns I’ve seen recently. She was busy during her 10 extra days in the oven! Mom & Dad informed me she had her days & nights confused, so she slept hard all through her session. Even some gentle, but persistent, persuasion from dad couldn’t make her keep her little eyes open!

June 13, 2007:  This little guy is the *freshest* newborn I’ve had in studio - just four days old! It was a pleasure to meet him and to see how much his big brother has grown since I saw him last!

And Big Brother - I had the pleasure of meeting Hudson when he was only a couple weeks old in 2004. Hard to believe he’s 2.5 now!

Three Beauties

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

June10, 2007: These three little gals visited me at the end of May. Beautiful triplets, 11 weeks old. :)

I can only imagine where these feet will take these three in the coming years!
